All aboard the Bateau-Mouche

Published on May 4, 2009 - Sometimes one of the best ways to see a city is from the outside looking in. Such is the case for Montréal and the scenic Bateau-Mouche cruises. Why not introduce your groups to the idea enjoying Montréal while gently cruising down the St. Lawrence River? This unique glass-topped boat now offers a “Taste of Montréal”, a lunch cruise that lets visitors sample some typical Montréal fare while feasting their eyes on our fabulous skyline.

The minute guests board for this 90-minute excursion, all their senses are stimulated by Montréal-inspired touches. Lunch consists of a choice of a delicious smoked salmon bagel sandwich (piped in fresh and hot from our fabled Fairmont bagel shop) or a juicy smoked meat sandwich from Lester’s (another foodie favourite). The main course is followed by a maple dessert from the mouth-watering Maple Delights, a gourmet bistro and shop located in the heart of Old Montréal.

The entire experience is rounded out by music from Montréal artists, tablecloths with press clippings commemorating our city’s historic events and milestones and maybe even a personal anecdote from the staff, who provide impeccable and professional service.

The Bateau-Mouche is the only boat to travel between beautiful Île Sainte-Hélène and Île Notre-Dame, so these cruises are really worth it. It also offers exciting “Land and River” packages that you’ll want to investigate.
