March 8, 2013 ─ It’s been 10 years, but the horticultural art exhibition and world-renowned competition Mosaïcultures Internationales Montréal 2013 (MIM2013) will return to the Montréal Botanical Garden in all its botanical splendour this coming June 22 to September 20. Over a million visitors are expected to take in this living display of gardening creativity that features the theme, World of Hope. As such, MIM2013 will transmit the importance of preserving our planet’s biodiversity.
A fabulous opportunity for representatives from parks, gardens, and green spaces to converge and exchange ideas, this prestigious international competition and art exhibition promotes gardening and horticulture as an expression of new millennium values and a vital component of the urban landscape.
Over 250 leading horticultural artists from around the globe will vie for the Grand Prize and the People’s Choice Award. All works must reflect the competitor’s culture while adhering to a predetermined theme and complying with sustainable development principles. Two- and three-dimensional sculptures and a creative arrangement of over 3 million flowers and plants will comprise a dazzling 2.2-km circuit through the Montréal Botanical Garden, showcasing its beauty in a most unique and natural way. Visitors may also enjoy a wide range of affiliated educational activities that invite them to engage in eco-friendly pursuits.
