Major shows

January 7, 2014 — There’s no business like Montréal show business!

When big stars announce a world tour, it goes without saying that Montréal makes the cut – after all, there’s no audience like a Montréal audience and they know it! Just ask all those who got their start here (and keep coming back) – Arcade Fire, Sam Roberts, Celine Dion, Cirque du Soleil – and they’ll tell you.

Evenko, a major Quebec-based entertainment promoter, brings the biggest and brightest stars to the city and beyond: with some 800 shows per year that cover everything from music, comedy, family to sports and more, evenko fuels the “unforgettable” factor when it comes to Montréal’s entertainment scene!

We’ve got the fervour. Montréal audiences are loyal, proud, and loud! It’s a year-round thing without an age limit: teenagers, kids, twenty-somethings and older…everyone gets in on the act. It’s no surprise that the Cirque du Soleil develops its shows here, pulling from the talented local community for everything ranging from costume design to artistic direction to performers.

We’ve got the venues. Take the Bell Centre for example. From an intimate 2,000-seater to a full-blown mega stadium show, it welcomes over 120 incredible shows – of all kinds – each year. Then there’s the Parc Jean-Drapeau, an urban island oasis out in the middle of the Saint-Lawrence, that’s ideal for outdoor shows and festivals, like Osheaga or the Piknic Électronik.

If you want to put your finger on the pulse of our entertainment scene, just head over to the Quartier des spectacles, the cultural heart of Montréal, with over 80 different venues situated in less than one square kilometre! Not surprisingly, it’s home to La Vitrine, your source for tickets to all the greatest shows – and discounts! – on the island.

Big stars shine in Montréal!
