March 28, 2011 – When you have an event hosted by a production company whose motto is to “pursue (their) quest for the perfect party”, chances are you’re in for a good one. Combine that with legions of dance devotees donning their brightest whites and flashing their pearliest all night, and you have the makings of a full-out, bare flesh and beaded sweat, floor throbbing, massive music happening.
And that, everyone, is the Montréal’s White Party Week from April 21 to 25, which hits its peak with the gigantic Bal en Blanc (White Ball). Even by Montréal standards, the Bal draws an impressive crowd of over 15,000 white-clad and happy techno lovers to downtown’s Palais des congrès. They hit the dance floor the eve of Sunday, April 24, and shake their bodies until the music shuts down at noon the next day.
This Easter Weekend party of all parties has consistently attracted some of the biggest names on the world DJ circuit. Headliners for the Bal’s 17th edition include Tiësto in the Main Room, Above&Beyond in the Trance Room, Ben Gold, Markus Schulz and plenty of other reigning deities of the turntables.
The White Party Week is also packed with other activities for those interested in exploring the new urban culture. Along with music, the line-up includes fashion, dance, design and lots of other excitement. Bring an open mind and a willingness to embrace diversity, and you’re in for a week to remember.
