April 25, 2012 – Now in its 7th year, the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival (August 3 to 5) brings the beat back to the lush environs of Parc Jean-Drapeau this summer with a star-studded roster of more than 70 acts. The Black Keys, Snoop Dogg, Justice, Florence and the Machine, Metric, Sigur Rós, Feist, City and Colour, A$AP Rocky, and Garbage are just a handful of the performers who will take to the stage on Montreal’s picturesque Île Sainte-Hélène.
Launched in 2006 with the goal of bringing a world-class European-style festival to Canada and showcasing Montréal's acclaimed local talent, Osheaga has succeeded on both accounts. Having recently grown to include an extra day of outdoor performances as well as Osheaga in the City, which features several in-door concerts in venues around town, it has become a week-long attraction for music lovers and industry insiders alike.
If music is your business as well as your passion, you won’t want to miss the MEG Montréal Osheaga International (MMOI), which was created to bring together members of the music industry from across the world. Scheduled to coincide with the MEG Montréal and Osheaga Music and Arts Festivals, MMOI offers unparalleled networking opportunities, as agents, promoters, managers, labels and other key players are brought together in the festival’s vibrant atmosphere.
Having built its reputation on fantastic entertainment, quality food and beverages, seamless organization and an eco-friendly approach, it's no wonder Osheaga has become one of the brightest jewels in Montréal's gleaming summer entertainment calendar.
