July 8, 2016 Getting around Montréal by public transit is a snap! Below ground you have 4 metro lines – the green line crosses downtown and the orange line hits all the hotspots in Old Montréal – while above ground you have an extensive bus network of routes that lead wherever you might wish to go!

Quick and safe, Montréal public transit is by far the best way to visit the city. And even better, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg! Available in the metro stations (predominantly downtown and in Old Montréal), 1- and 3-day passes are a convenient and economical way to ride: a 1-day pass only costs $10 and a 3 -day pass (for 3 consecutive days of transit use) costs a reasonable $18. Both cards provide unlimited access for the duration of the card.

Another interesting possibility is the Montréal Museums Pass. It is valid for three consecutive days and includes unlimited access to public transit for that time period as well as admission to 41 museums (one visit per museum).

Seven days a week, 365 days a year, the 747 Express bus is a shuttle between downtown and Trudeau airport (Dorval). The route features eleven downtown stops conveniently located near major hotels and takes approximately 45 – 60 minutes each way, depending on traffic. A mere $10 gives you unlimited access for the day; holders of 1- or 3-day bus passes ride for free. Wi-Fi service is available on most shuttles.

Also, the 715 bus takes a circular route connecting downtown to the Old Port. Operational 7 days a week from 7 a.m. until 1 a.m., this route features stops at the Centre Infotouriste, metro Berri-UQAM, major attractions in Old Montréal, along the Quays of the Old Port and at the fringe of the Village.
