March 27, 2012 ─ Up-cycling never looked so good
Ladies looking for a distinct way to enhance their wardrobe or a one-of-a-kind souvenir will fall in love with Charlotte Hosten’s unique necklaces, brooches, bracelets and other fashion accessories. Using an imaginative mix of vintage and modern beads and costume jewellery as well as colourful fabrics, Charlotte creates custom designs and ready-to-wear pieces that are true works of art. Her philosophy? Not everything needs to be all shiny and new in order to be très chic.
Avenue Bernard in the hip Mile End district is where you’ll find Charlotte Hosten’s new boutique and atelier. Admire the creative window displays and antique decor, and browse the array of jewellery placed tastefully around the bright and airy space. You’ll feel like you’re in a friend’s stylish apartment as you try on Charlotte’s in-house creations, which are all pretty, feminine, eclectic yet elegant, and range from simple to elaborate. Just beyond the billowing white curtains separating the storefront from the atelier, you’ll catch a glimpse of Charlotte and her team assembling new designs.
Brides can honour the age-old tradition of “something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue” with help from Charlotte, who, true to her vision, uses vintage jewellery, silk, lace and sometimes feathers in her bridal accessories. The collection includes tiara-like headbands, fancy hairpins, decorative sashes, adorned clutches and garters. The bride-to-be can also bring treasured heirloom pieces for Charlotte to incorporate into a custom-made creation.
When it comes to finding a perfect piece to match your personality, Charlotte Hosten’s jewellery designs are true gems!
