December 4 2012 ─ For the traveler in search of unique Christmas gifts, the Salon des métiers d’art at downtown’s Place Bonaventure is a sure bet.
From December 3 to 22, 2010, this huge exhibition shines the spotlight on objects crafted by more than 450 artisans from across Québec. That’s 19 whole days in which visitors can leisurely peruse and purchase a goldmine of unique objects ranging anywhere from funky to quirky to high-end.
The Salon shines the spotlight on seven craft categories, specifically: ceramics, woods, textiles, leathers and skins, paper, metal and other materials.
From pottery to jewelry and decorative objects to musical instruments, Québec’s talented artisans share their wares with an appreciative public at what is considered to be the most important professional craft exhibition/sale in North America.
