April 24, 2012 – Located in the east end of Montréal, Horizon Roc is one of the largest indoor climbing centres in the world, with over 2,600 m2 (27 000 ft2) of climbing surface for top-rope or lead climbers of all ages and abilities.
The centre boasts a wide variety of interesting and complex climbing surfaces, from verticals to overhangs to bouldering caves to a mega-roof and stalactite for the more advanced climbers. Smack-dab in the centre you’ll find an impressive bouldering centrepiece (impressive height, overall mass and top-out capacity), sure to provide hours of bouldering fun.
Their team of 25 talented route setters is constantly changing the 300 or so odd routes in the centre, always looking for a way to challenge your ascent to the top.
If you don’t feel like climbing up Horizon Roc, then why not walk across it – in the air? Try out Canada’s first indoor high-rope course where you walk across 12 m (40 ft) of high cable bridges or the 25 m (82 ft) zip-line for a thrill of a different nature.
Don’t worry if this is all new to you – Horizon Roc offers extensive introductory courses by experienced instructors to guarantee your safety and enjoyment. You can even bring the kiddies: the centre has facilities specifically designed and arranged for children three years of age and up as well as courses designed for aspiring climbers.
So strap on a chalk bag and up you go!
