Street Food at the Olympic Stadium and across the City

July 22, 2013 — Every first Friday of the month, from May 3 to October 4, 2013, is the largest gathering of street food vendors in Québec. This epicurean feast blends street food, street art, and privately imported wine at the Olympic Park Esplanade Financière Sun Life. This year’s event with its 15 to 20 food trucks easily eclipses last year’s total of 5 to 7 trucks for an experience worthy of an Olympic medal.

The Esplanade is one of the first sites in the city to have encouraged this type of food truck party with the creation of First Fridays in June 2012. Back by popular demand, the environmentally responsible shindig offers quality food served in eco-friendly containers. It’s also a delicious opportunity to showcase the range of talent and flavours from kitchens and restaurants in Montréal and its surroundings. Make First Fridays your favourite days of the month, and treat yourself to this unique food celebration all summer long.

Meanwhile, the StreetFood MTL site allows you to find some 350 Food Trucks and To Go services based on, among other things, the type of food you've got a craving for. Trucks work with the Québec Street Food Association to ensure the quality of offerings. Likewise, To Go counters provide a diverse and affordable selection of quality, fresh eats. Both services use geolocation software so you can easily find a truck or counter in the city. You can also follow StreetFood MTL on Twitter and Facebook so you'll always be in the loop of great, gastronomic finds.

Summer keeps on truckin' in Québec's gourmet metropolis.
