January 16, 2014 — The 35th Cirque du Soleil production, KURIOS - Cabinet of Curiosities, will be presented under the Big Top at the Old Port of Montréal staring April 24, 2014.
Fashioned by Michel Laprise, the show is inspired by the innovative buzz of activity during the second half of the 19th century, as evidenced by the discovery of electricity, the development of the railway and telegraph, and the novels of Jules Verne and Mary Shelley. True to his creative process, Laprise has designed and staged a fantastic tale where time stops, reality is relative, and everything is possible.
The show is an extraordinary spectacle in which viewers are invited to go beyond the looking glass of the cabinet and follow an ambitious inventor who defies the laws of time and space to reinvent the world that surrounds him. Visible or invisible? True or false? Fact or fiction? KURIOS - Cabinet of Curiosities awakens the imagination, stimulates creativity, makes poetry, and transports the audience into a mysterious world of curiosities where fancy and fascination hold the power.
