Published on May 4, 2009 - Three major commercial centres—Place Montréal Trust, Eaton Centre and Complexe Les Ailes—have joined together to offer Sh3pping, more than 300 boutiques, restaurants and services in the heart of the city. All year long, these three centres are abuzz with Montréalers and visitors, the latter of whom can take advantage of some great budget-friendly shopping bonuses.

In fact, Sh3pping offers tourists a free rebate card, available at any of their Customer Service Desks. Plus, with any purchase of $150 or more (before taxes, made within a consecutive 2-day period), visitors receive a free Sh3pping travel bag. This exclusive gift is perfect for stashing all the treasures and finds their shopping foray will unearth. And while Montréal has plenty of stores and boutiques to discover, it also features an exciting line-up of sidewalk sales, sample sales and fashion events that never cease to attract the incurable clotheshorse and fashionista.

In June, fashion designers from near and far show off their collections to admiring fans during the Festival Mode et Design on McGill College Avenue. People pack the street to get a glimpse of models strutting new creations down the catwalk and to enjoy other special events and exhibitions. Music, dance and multimedia performances also add another splash of panache to this must-see five-day fashion extravanganza.

As Canada’s fashion capital, Montréal is also host, spring and fall, to the Braderie de mode québécoise, which draws some 40 designers and more than 8,000 shoppers. With anywhere from 50 to 80% off major labels, even the most iron-willed fashionista will buckle under these must-have temptations…
