Warhol Live

From September 25, 2008, to January 18, 2009, Warhol Live is on display at the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts.

Grace Jones. Mick Jagger. Liza Minnelli. Marilyn. Elvis. While Andy Warhol was inspired by these 20th-century pop icons, he drew from other sources as well. In fact, music and dance also played a pivotal role in the artist’s works and life. And it’s precisely this lesser-known aspect of Warhol that is on display at the exhibition-event Warhol Live at the Museum of Fine Arts.

In partnership with the Andy Warhol Museum, one of the four Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, this journey through 640 of the artist’s works—objects, paintings, silkscreens and photographs as well as installations, films, videos and album covers—highlights the importance of music in creative process of the man known as the “Pope of Pop”.
