A Governor's residence built in the 18th century, this historic building and its collection offer a unique view of the history of Montréal and Québec, from Amerindian prehistory to the beginning of the 20th century. Besides the impressive collection of works of art, paintings, numismatic items and other artefacts, the Museum has a boutique and an outdoor café with a view of the magnificent Governor's Garden.

The Museum and the Governor’s Garden are open every day in summer from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from June 1 to Thanksgiving Day. In winter, the Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., from the day after Thanksgiving Day to May 31. The Museum is closed on December 24, 25, 31, 2009 and on January 1st, 2010.
