This exhibition brings together some twenty paintings realized by Montreal artist Etienne Zack over the past six years, and includes two new major works produced specifically for the occasion. Known for his wild palette and crunching of form, history and realities within the picture plane, Zack’s work explores the physical act of art making. He does so through the use or re-interpretation of fictitious possibilities and iconic symbols - specifically those of the painter as a centre piece. His work has been shown in solo exhibitions including the Quebec Triennial in 2008.
