Several urban renewal projects conducted in the 1950s and 1960s have transformed Montreal’s landscape. Les Habitations Jeanne-Mance, Radio-Canada building and the Bonaventure Highway have replaced large parts of old districts. Through an exceptional municipal collection of unknown photographs featuring houses, shops and backyard swallowed by modernization, the exhibition revives the memory of these vanished areas and their inhabitants.
