Montréal on Wheels takes cyclists from Old Montréal across the St. Lawrence River to Parc Jean-Drapeau via the “estacade,” a structure built between 1964 and 1965 to control ice formation and movements. Participants see sites and architectural gems, including the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve (Montréal’s own Formula 1 race track), Moshe Safdie’s Habitat 67, Buckminster Fuller’s Biosphère, and Alexander Calder’s stabile entitled, “Man.“ Along the way, a tasting of maple products from Canadian Maple Delights sweetens the tour.
