The Foundry was established in the industrial quarter in 1880, and contributed to the development of Montréal industry and the port. The building now serves as an arts centre supporting the creation, production and distribution of works by young artists from Québec and elsewhere. The structure houses offices, workshops, a sound studio, an exhibition gallery and a café-restaurant, the ArtBar Cluny.
