Overview Services

Designed by American sculptor Alexander Calder (1898-1976), Man is a magnificent 24-meters high “stabile”, entirely made of stainless steel. The sculpture, inspired by the theme of the 1967 Universal Exhibition held in Montreal, « Man and His World », was commissioned by the International Nickel Company of Canada.

Each summer, electronic music aficionados gather around it for Piknic Électronik, a rendezvous that takes place on Sunday afternoons.

Under the imposing structure, the amazing view towards the city allows one to admire Old Montréal and the Old Port in the foreground, with Mount Royal as backdrop.
