The Saint-Denis Street, the Quartier latin’s major thoroughfare, provides a unique example of mid-19th-century Victorian-style urban architecture. The street adopted its commercial vocation at the turn of the 20th century. More than a hundred different businesses contribute to the unique mixture of restaurants, cafés, bistros and boutiques located around the Théâtre Saint-Denis, the Cinéma du Quartier latin and Ontario Street.
