The City of Montréal and its partners are working together to memorialize its founder, Paul Chomedey de Maisonneuve, on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of his birth. Events include a showcase of artifacts and manuscripts in his honour at Pointe-à-Callière, the Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History; a mass at Notre-Dame Basilica for the 370th anniversary of the founding of the city; and an official opening of the new Place d'Armes, where the Maisonneuve Monument stands.
