With its presentation of Colours of India, Pointe-à-Callière will showcase an incredible array of the country’s colours in an exhibition illustrating the grace and beauty of India’s cultural heritage. Geographically, socially, and culturally diverse, India expresses its heritage and traditions through religions, clothing, theatre, celebrations and daily life. As an introduction to Indian civilization, the exhibition will feature some fifty works by photographer Suzanne Held, along with some 100 objects, the majority of which are from the collection of the Musée national des arts asiatiques Guimet in Paris. In addition to the majestic photos, the exhibition includes sculptures and works of art, along with textiles, clothing, and finery that shine a spotlight on Indian culture.
