The growth of contemporary Chinese art constitutes one of the most remarkable phenomenons on the global art scene in the past twenty years. Red Flag: Contemporary Chinese Art in Montreal Collections, the first exhibition by a Quebec museum devoted to this art, features works from several Montreal collections, including the Museum’s own, by some of today’s greatest Chinese artists, such as the Gao Brothers, Wenda Gu, Zhang Huan, Chen Jiagang, Liu Jianhua, Wang Tiande, Zhan Wang, Ai Weiwei et Danful Yang.
