Playwright Carol Anderson weaves a poetic thread into what she calls “a tragic fairy tale”. Intertwining lush language, music and classical ballet, Swan Song of Maria explores the relationship between an aging theatre couple and the effect of the husband’s ever present muse – a ballerina he met, many decades earlier, on a Latin Caribbean island in the midst of a revolution – on that relationship.
