Situated on protected land at the foot of Mount Royal, this chapel was built in the neoclassical style between 1859 and 1861 according to plans by Victor Bourgeau, architect of the Diocese of Montréal. The chapel is part of a remarkable heritage site important from historical, religious and architectural points of view. Over the years, it has welcomed a mix of local parishioners and hospital patients, while remaining a place of worship for the Religious Hospitallers of St. Joseph.
