A GUIDE TO CANADA DAY IN MONTREAL

Posted on June 30th, 2010 by .

Every July 1st, Canada celebrates its birthday! In Montreal, the main bash is held on the keys of the Old Port. Here’s a quick guide to the festivities for 2010!

THE CANADA DAY PARADE:  As of 11am on Thursday July 1st, join thousands of people in downtown Montreal for the Canada Day Parade! The parade starts on Ste-Catherine Boulevard at the corner of Fort (Guy-Concordia metro) and ends around 1pm at Phillips Square on Ste-Catherine and Fort. A giant cake will then be served to the public! Who says no to free cake?

OLD PORT OF MONTREAL: Canada Day organizers put together a wide array of activities perfect for friends and families on the keys of the Montreal Old Port. This year the festivities include motocross demos, acrobatic ski shows, breakdancing, a yoga zone, inflatable games for kids, food, music, good vibes and as always, stunning evening fireworks! For more details, call (514) 866-9164 or visit the Montreal Canada Day website.

Oh- and don’t be shy to paint a little red maple leaf on your cheeks ! In fact, the Montreal Buzz would love to see your Canada Day pics ! You can email them to me at tamy@tourisme-montreal.org or post them on our Flickr group page and the best one might end up in our popular Flickr photo of the week !

HAPPY CANADA DAY!
