With the another Zoofest and Just for Laughs in the books, we’re left to look back at the LOLs that were. Thankfully, when Joan Rivers, Sarah Silverman, Kyle Dunnigan, Jimmy Carr and Wil Anderson come to your comedy festival, there’s plenty to LOL about. Can’t wait to see what they’ve got up their weird sleeves for 2013!

The 27th edition of the Festival International Nuits d’Afrique de Montréal has just ended after 12 days filled with 500 artists from over 30 countries performing in 90 shows, events and parades, not to mention the nonstop activity of the lively Marché Tombouctou and Village des enfants. The Montreal International Fireworks Competition, known officially as L’International des Feux Loto-Quebec, takes over the night skies every summer from June to August. This year, the competition’s 29th, culminates with a non-competition “Tribute to U2″, sure to be a literal highlight of the summer!
The 2013 edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal is now in the books and while shows by Amadou & Mariam, The Cat Empire, Ravi Coltrane, Wynton Marsalis, Oliver Jones, Lyle Lovett, Chris Isaak and Mother Mother had people talking, it was, without question, the free outdoor show put on by Feist in the Quartier des spectacles to open the festival that buzzed brightest. 2013 was the 20th edition of the Mondial de la Biere, Montreal’s premier event for beer lovers, held at the Palais des Congres. As the video proves, there’s clearly something about sampling beer from around the world that puts people in a good mood (it’s probably the beer). See you there in 2014!
