The Village, just east of downtown, is one of the largest queer districts in North America. Throughout most of the year, it’s a quiet and quirky neighborhood of gays, lesbians, families and cozy B&Bs housed in century-old duplexes and triplexes. And from June to September, the Village is a big celebration of diversity, where out-of-towners mix with locals, dine al fresco, shop profusely, and relax under the sun with a cocktail or two. Here, lining Saint-Catherine Street East, are fashion and specialty boutiques, restaurants serving all kinds of cuisine, and a variety of venues at which you can dance the night away.
