Since Montréal is an island, water activities are a big draw. The Lachine rapids attract fearless kayaking, surfing and jet-boating fans. Less adventurous water lovers may prefer the Old Port’s new urban beach (although no bathing is allowed) or Île Sainte-Hélène and Île Notre-Dame, islands that offer spectacular views of the city and its river.
