Mondial des Jeux will consist of two main game zones; the Gaming Lounge at Complexe Desjardins, and Gaming Boulevard on Maisonneuve Blvd between Jeanne-Mance and St-Urbain. The Gaming Lounge will be open every day from 1-10 PM, while Gaming Boulevard runs from 6-11 PM on weekdays and 3-11 PM on weekends. There will also be tournaments and shows at the nearby Télus Theater on St-Denis and the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel on René Levesque W Blvd.
Gaming Boulevard: This boulevard will be lined with booths filled with fun games and play. SocioJeux/Randolph will be animating giant games (because they’re way more fun than tiny games,) 55 Icônes will be hosting a memory game, and FQJR/FQE will have chess, bridge, checkers, scrabble, table hockey, table football, sand bags and more! There will also be a video game booth to show off the latest and greatest technology and games in the industry. Ready to be crowned the undisputed champion? Gaming Lounge: The Gaming Lounge inside Complexe Desjardins will have a Game Bar, and a Video Game Lounge with 16 game consoles, 2 zones of tablet games, and a game stage. Tournaments & Shows: From July 18-19 at the Telus Theater, the North American ESWC Qualifications take place. This will be an opportunity to watch some of the best video gamers in the world duke it out in Call of Duty: Ghosts and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. On the same days right next door at La Mouche, The Ultra Street Fighter 4 and Super Smash Bros Melee tournament will have fans thumbing those controllers to get a slice of the $1500 prize pool. Only one youth and one adult chess master will walk away with the bragging rights of being crowned the best chess player in Canada.
