Dinner in the sky : the art of having dinner strapped to a chair, which is attached to a table, which is suspended to a crane,  which is floating 150 feet in the sky. Fun? You bet!

I tried the unusual dinning experience as part of the International Fêtes Gourmandes Festival, a popular food fair, taking place minutes away from downtown Montreal – in Laval to be exact, Montreal’s biggest suburb. The delicious food (served by Old Montreal’s Primavera Traiteur) included a Noix de St-Jacques appetizer, amber beer braised veal and duck confit served with potato mousseline and strawberry-rhubarb chutney. Champagne and wine were served as we hovered in the sky for about an hour, sharing smiles and giggles.

Interested? You can experience this unique event on July 29, 30 and 31 at the Laval Centropolis.
