Our “Photo of the Week” comes from an interesting perspective — the water. Many travelers are surprised to discover that Montreal is indeed a city surrounded by the Saint Lawrence River. If you’re interested in setting sail in Montreal, there are a variety of boating options (click and search “water sports”).

The subject of this particular photo is Marché Bonsecours

“Recognized as one of the ten most beautiful heritage buidlings in Canada, the Marché Bonsecours is a proud showcase for Québec artists, designers and artisans. It houses fifteen boutiques, including the Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec (Québec’s Craft Council), which offer original creations at the artisans’ prices. Watch glass-blowing artists at work in the Gogo Glass boutique, and enjoy Québec-grown products in the three restaurants and cafés-terraces.”

Thanks to Flickr user “yletou” for the snapshot!
