Who doesn’t like a free dinner once in a while? Let’s face it ladies, economic times are tough. In the great depression of the 30s, women completely reinvented fashion by tailoring their old garments.
Last week, Oprah was giving out free KFC dinners to all of America. She even said she had the newly grilled chicken for dinner and for lunch the next day. Why did she eat it? Because it’s free!
I’m happy to say, I might just surpass Oprah on this one! In Montréal, you can actually eat a complete meal in a restaurant and enjoy a night out with your girlfriends without spending a dime!
Here’s the scoop on Montréal freebies:
Manic Mondays at Cafeteria: Girls eat free at this swanky restaurant on St-Laurent Blvd. Choose from a set menu, which includes favourites like salads, fried calamari, pasta, grilled fish, mussels and burgers. I personally prefer going there around 8pm, before it gets too noisy and crowded. Later in the evening, the place heats up for a party, complete with a DJ playing house music, electro and hip-hop beats.
L’Appartement on Wednesdays: For something a bit more relaxed, yet still quite elegant, L’Appartement offers a free two-course meal to anyone purchasing a bottle of wine (two free meals per bottle). But hey—weren’t you going to buy wine anyway? Prices vary, of course, but you’ll be able to find a decent bottle for $30. My favourite part of the evening? Watching the guys at the bar who come in hoping to hit the jackpot in a room full of ladies. F-u-n-n-y.
Business Lounge on Thursdays: Free Moet & Chandon between 5 and 8pm! Need I say more? If you like bubbles and a more exclusive and professional crowd, this lounge in Old Montréal is perfect for evening drinks and Spanish tapas.
If you’re planning on going to either Cafeteria or L’Appartement, make sure you reserve first!
Since freebies come and go with the seasons, expect new offers to put up regularly. All the more reason to check in with me on Twitter before your trip.
