  • 10 GAY HALLOWEEN COSTUMES (AND WHERE TO ROCK THEM)

    Posted by

It is my belief that Halloween enables people to act out their inebriated fantasies in somewhat acceptable social spaces. Personally, I’ve never needed Halloween for that…

Yet Halloween is always a special day for us gays; we wait all year to release our inner cracked-out pop star or gay cowboy fantasies.

As you might imagine from our renown liberal culture, Montreal enjoys a good freak-fest. Check out my snarky costume suggestions, and the Montreal parties where you can release your inner gay ghoul…

    My 10 Queerest Costume Recommendations:

    1. Celine Dion in a kayak
    2. Pregnant Clay Aiken
    3. Sarah Jessica Parker’s severed mole
    4. That adorable chubby guy doing Single Ladies
    5. The Not-So-Ambiguously Gay Duo (this requires a lot of public humping)
    6. The dork in this video: Gay Cam for Google
    7. Lady Gaga’s severed penis
    8. Lesbian gynecologist with no arms
    9. Dumbledore in Drag
    10. Mercedes Jones from Glee (required accessory: baseball bat)

Now here are 5 parties where you can rock your gay costume:

Faggity Ass Friday (October 30) – An awesome monthly faggitylicious dance party that benefits a local youth organization. For the Halloween edition, expect a mélange of gay zombies and dykie draculas. $10.

ELECTROSHOCK 04 (October 30) – A gender blending evening featuring 4 smokin’ Montreal DJs spinning until the wee hours of the morning. BYOB. $5 before midnight, $10 after.

Parking Nightclub (October 31)will feature DJ Peter Rauhofer in what will surely be a sexy spooktacular. Cover ranges (usually around $20).

OPEN HOUSE: FREAKS COME OUT!!! (October 31) – Featuring B’UGO, one of my fave Montreal DJs, the location of this event is not even released yet. Will be guaranteed hotness. Go get yer freak on. Price TBA.

MEOW MIX Halloween Bash – Montreal’s hottest lesbian dance party gets monstrous for muff-lovers. This year’s theme is “Superheroes & Seventies Porn Stars.” $10.

The Montréal Buzz posted a photo:	The beauty of Montreal is found in the diversity of the people, the historic landmarks, the arts and culture that bring together residents and returning tourists, and surely, the ever-glowing lights. The Montréal Buzz posted a photo:	Peter Hook at Club Soda The Montréal Buzz posted a photo:	I was in Montreal last winter (February) just after the death of one of my parents. I really needed to get out of Toronto at that time, to reflect, and to surround myself with new stimuli. It was very cold during the visit, but I spent a lot of time walking around anyway, taking photos, going to galleries, and visiting restaurants with old friends. This shot is on Sherbrooke, just west of the Main. I've posted this before, in a flickr pool called "It can't be more Montreal than this". I like this image because it looks like it's very cold out, and yet there are people moving about in what I think is one of the country's most charming cities.
