kiss (kis) v. The touching of one person’s lips to another place, which is used as an expression of affection, respect, greeting, farewell, good luck, romantic affection or sexual desire. The word comes from Old English cyssan, “to kiss”, in turn from coss “a kiss.”

Now that we are all clear on what a kiss is (*chuckles*), I’m going to show you where in Montreal you can go to start practicing!

These are my 4 favourite romantic places to get kissed in Montreal:

1. Top of Mount Royal – Head up to the Kondiaronk Belvedere where, after working up a bit of a sweat, you can keep the heart-rate going with a make-out session. You’ll be able to see for miles and miles, but you might not even have your eyes open.
2. In the Botanical Gardens – No matter what the season, you are going to be treated to colors and fragrances from around the world – from the peaceful Japanese Garden to the heart of the Sonoran desert, from the classically designed French garden to the woodlands of the Laurentians. You are inevitably going to stumble across some aphrodisiacs. Smooching is the appropriate response.
3. Streets of Old Montreal – After a nice meal in one of the international bistros, you can wander the cobblestone streets and feel like you really are in the heart of France. Find yourself a quiet little lane and plant a wet one on your amoureux. Make it French.
4. Parc Lafontaine – Where the “gay kiss” is more the norm than the exception, this gem of Montreal provides lounging space for adorable couples (and singles) on picnic blankets. I recommend some slow nuzzlin’ while enjoying a baguette, some cheese and a bottle of wine.(And in the winter, you can hold your honey’s hand while skating along the canal. Hello cool kisses!)
