In Montreal, there are vibrant Kink, BDSM and Fetish communities, and multiple ways to get involved.

I’ll get you started…One strategy is a stroll through Montreal’s gay village (St. Catherine’s Street between St. Hubert and Papineau) while keeping your eyes peeled for posters and flyers that advertise kinky events. This approach is good in the sense that many events won’t necessarily be searchable on Google. There are weekly parties that beg for discovery.

If you do decide to take the “street approach,” make sure you stop into PRIAPE, which is Montreal’s premiere gay boutique (for toys, lube, leather and more). The boys at the counter will most definitely have tips on what’s happening during your stay. Or log into priape chat to connect with those who share your interests and to find some fun before you even get here.

Saunas are always a reliable favorite for “fun” times. The village has numerous places where you can sweat it out. Oasis Sauna is the “biggest and most acknowledged sauna in Montreal” (I quote from the website). Another popular choice is Le 456 which has its own maze – literally, there is a maze where you are encouraged to get lost and then to find something sinful. Club Festish is a Montreal-based organization providing a great starting point for events relating to all aspects of BDSM, Fetish & Kink. They have a space called Loft du Château and consider themselves “pansexual” as opposed to “gay.” But, heck, inclusiveness is good.

• L’Aigle Noir (1315 St. Catherine Street East)– a bar for those with a passion for leather.
