“Le Salon” knows Good Hair!

Curly hair: Funky, natural and untamed. My curly hair is my trademark and I love it. Some days though, a woman likes to switch it up!
So I recently headed to newly open Montreal hair salon, Le Salon, where the talented CHRISTIAN L’ENFANT ROI, worked his magic in my massive mane…
As I first arrived in the warm Mile End hair salon, I was nicely welcomed at the front desk and invited to head to the sink for my special hair treatment – Le Salon offers many different “therapies” depending on your hair type. Me? Dry hair? No surprise. I get the repairing treatment and thank goodness because it’s well needed.
Now here’s a secret: I usually hate getting my hair washed in hair salons. Not that I don’t enjoy the feeling of someone washing my hair, but those sinks break my neck. Yet, the adjustable and mushy chairs made me so comfortable, in addition to Stephanie, who gave me the hair treatment of my life.
This was not the usual let-me-wash-your-hair-as-quickly-as-I-can-and-maybe-rub-your-temples-for-half-a-second type wash. This was more like holy-cow-this-head-massage-is-so-amazing-I-almost-fell-alseep-and-thought-I-was-at-the-spa type wash.
So off the bat, I’m in a good mood. You have to understand, not many hair stylists I have encountered know what to do with this mass of (often) tangled hair. Trust me when I say I’ve had my share of traumatic hair salon experiences…forced conversations, fuzzy finishes, and stylists who cut what seems to be an entire foot of my hair, when what I asked for was to gently trim the split ends.
But none of that here! Christian actually listened to what I wanted and asked many questions to find out about my taste and needs. Time flew by as he straightened each curly strand of hair. And there I was, less than an hour later, sitting in my chair with beautiful bouncy straight hair.
Le Salon is also good for knocking two birds with one stone, since they provide clients with an impeccable makeup service. Prices are reasonable, service is great, décor is welcoming (love the rustic stone walls), and staff is friendly.
I think I finally found THE salon I can finally commit to! So next time you get off the plane, in need of a good hair job before hitting Montreal’s vivid nightlife scene, just remember these two words: Le Salon.
