If you aren’t too inclined to pack your ugly yellow “French for Dummies” book, then CREATIVE BOOST could be an interesting, alternative solution. Creative Boost is an art space dedicated to diverse forms of art, including languages, literature, philosophy and music. It offers artist residencies, exhibitions, special events and courses in its light-filled loft on the corner of Sherbrooke Street and Parc Avenue, literally five minutes away from Place des Arts metro station. Different workshops are offered in photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, pottery, ceramics and video, from amateur to expert levels. You can also take English and French courses that usually are ongoing. Sessions generally run for 10 weeks, but you can drop in since there aren`t any fixed start and end dates. Creative Boost also has an internship program that gives Canadian and international students the chance to work in the art world, while the art gallery hosts small, yet cool exhibitions.
What I like about this initiative is the fact you can adapt your schedule to your own needs. It’s a fun way to learn new skills in many different forms of art with experienced professionals in a creative and contemporary environment. Check out CREATIVE BOOST’S WEBSITE for full details about schedules, prices, and contact info.
