A great way to spend time with family is to gather up around the table for a delicious meal. Finding the right restaurant to accommodate everyone’s standards (and age group) can be a challenge but it’s not impossible…

Here is our list of family friendly restaurants that will delight you as well as the kids…
Mister Steer
Mr. Steer: What could be more fun than a meal at Mr. Steer, a Montreal institution since 1958? The popular Steer burger at this retro looking diner will please the whole family. Who will have the longest and curliest Suzy Q fry on their plate? You’ll just have to find out! And whatever you do, don’t forget the milkshake!
botanical garden
Botanical Garden Restaurant: Walking through the butterflies exhibit and making friends with the creepy crawlers can get you tired. When it’s time to refuel, visit the Botanical Gardens Restaurant. They offer sandwiches, salads and even hot meals. If you prefer to have a picnic on the grounds, simply pick up a packed lunch. On warm sunny days, between 4-8pm, sit outside on their terrace, enjoy dishes from the tapas menu and take in the live band with Montreal’s most famous gardens as your backdrop.
juliette et chocolat
Juliette et Chocolat: Treating the family to something sweet is made easy at Juliette et Chocolat. The list of Willy Wonkaesque treats like the fabulous crêpes (sweet and savoury), pastries, hot chocolate and brownies seems endless. From lunch all the way to late night chocolate cravings, this is one stop not to miss. Sugar highs will be had so don’t say we didn’t warn you!
bottega
Bottega Pizzeria: Pizza is one of those dishes made for sharing. It’s also one of the most kid-friendly meals ever. The service at this Italian restaurant is both attentive and accommodating to all of its guests, no matter how old they may be. From a simple, fresh tomatoes and cheese topping to something a little more sophisticated, such as rapini and sausage, everyone is likely to find something they like. Leave room for dessert, Bottega makes their own gelato and offer plenty of varieties every day.
lola rosa
Lola Rosa: If there’s one restaurant that will convince you to make friends with leafy greens, zucchini and Brussels sprouts, it’s Lola Rosa. Their two locations have become quite popular with Montrealers who love their veggies and have even converted a few convinced carnivores. Their creative vegan and vegetarian friendly menu makes those “Meatless Mondays” much more fun and delicious.
