One of my absolute favourite summer activities has to be soaking up electronic beats and rays of sunshine in Parc Jean-Drapeau. Every Sunday afternoon Montréalers shake their booties at an outdoor dance party. It is called Piknic Électronik.
I wanted to give you a little taste of the excitement, so I made a little dance video – “I Can’t Wait!”
Check it out…
Piknic Électronik is a dance party like no other. It continues to make electronic music available to the masses, with an emphasis on highlighting the enormous talent found in Montréal’s electronic music scene. It’s a dance-a-licious weekly event that’s both a great party and an opportunity to get musically educated.
And who doesn’t need a bit of education?
The site itself is a Montréal gem. The green space of Parc Jean-Drapeau is the historic location of Expo 67, and provides views of the St. Lawrence river, Mount Royal and the downtown skyline. Piknic Électronik is accessible by bike, subway, car, and even by boat… heck, you could swim if you are feeling ambitious. It’s also the perfect spot to watch the sun set over Montréal.

I’ll be there on the regular. I hope I’ll see you bustin’ a move under the statue!
In the meantime, check out my dance video – “I Can’t Wait!”
