A bike can be whatever you want it to be:  An Individualistic statement, environmental activism, sightseeing method, or simply a tool for getting from point A to point B. In Montreal, tens of thousands of us think of our bikes as all of those things and more, which is why we throw a big party about bikes every year. So in the spirit of a spectacular two-wheeled summer, hope to see you all at the Montreal Bike Fest and Le Tour de L’ile… … More

  • 8 MONTREAL "DROP-IN" YOGA STUDIOS

    Posted by

    yoga en ville

Yoga has become a regular part of many people’s physical and mental health regimes.

And just because you’re on the road visiting Montreal, doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice the yoga practice that you’ve diligently been developing. In fact, trying a new studio while I’m visiting a different city is one of my favorite travel activities. It counterbalances the often stressfulness of travel, while providing perfect opportunities for post-class conversations with locals.

If you want to maintain the depth of your downward dog, or just need to chill-out during a busy business convention, here are eight studios in Montreal where we recommend gettin’ your yoga-on. … More

The Montréal Buzz posted a photo:	POP Quarters: L-R: Alex Cowan, Sean Nicholas Savage (musician) & Sebastien Cowan (Arbutus Records) The Montréal Buzz posted a photo:	There's something magical about a city that lives below a mountain and it's difficult to express why that is...there's something about Mont Royal and how it watches over Montreal as if its duty is to protect the city day and night. It's also so profound how you can be entrenched in cosmopolitan life and minutes later be surrounded by nature...and those clouds; there's no clouds like the ones over Montreal--surreal and oh so beautiful. The Montréal Buzz posted a photo:	I was in Montreal last winter (February) just after the death of one of my parents. I really needed to get out of Toronto at that time, to reflect, and to surround myself with new stimuli. It was very cold during the visit, but I spent a lot of time walking around anyway, taking photos, going to galleries, and visiting restaurants with old friends. This shot is on Sherbrooke, just west of the Main. I've posted this before, in a flickr pool called "It can't be more Montreal than this". I like this image because it looks like it's very cold out, and yet there are people moving about in what I think is one of the country's most charming cities. The Montréal Buzz posted a photo:	This photo I took represents the essence of Montreal. Taking the most beautiful place in Montreal, the Old Port, and using it as a backdrop to Montreal's other beautiful feature: the people!
