While some (read: hoards) of you Comiccon fans hang with the likes of George Pérez, Jim Starlin, Mike Mignola, Tim Sale, Darwin Cooke and Frank Cho; I’ll be hunting out Malcolm McDowell, the actor who brought Anthony Burgess’ Alex from A Clockwork Orange to (disturbing) life – and simultaneously avoiding Gunnar “Leatherface” Hansen, whose Chainsaw movie was the first and last horror flick I ever saw.

Or maybe Torontonian Laura Vandervoort (who played Supergirl in Smallville and Lisa in V) and Montrealer Meghan Rath (Sally on Being Human) are more up your alley. Or maybe you swing more in James Marsters’ direction, yes, that Cali-native, a.k.a. Spike from Buffy-turned-singer. He’ll be rocking out with a musical performance (September 14 at 9:30 p.m.) And did I mention the costume competition, a centennial fete for the death of Bram Stoker and, oh yeah, the Batmobile circa 1989? Holy shit, Batman. Yup, happening here in Montréal. All under one roof.

Then just when you think it can’t get better, this year’s ComicCon will see both William Shatner AND Sir Patrick Stewart make the trek to Montreal. Ha ha. If you didn’t squeal (even internally) over the news of this captainous reunion, there are likely no cartwheels on your horizon for Wil Wheaton, Brent Spiner, or John de Lancie. But that’s okay, somebody has to organize this year’s hockey pool.
