  • 5 MONTREAL BANDS (AND 1 DJ) YOU SHOULD SEE AT OSHEAGA

    Posted by

It’s no secret that the best bands in Canada are from Montreal, or at least they moved to Montreal and then became the best. Festivals like Osheaga build the momentum of the music scene by offering lesser-known bands exposure and a platform to play for a larger audience than a loft or club allows. Here, then, are some Montreal bands and a DJ/Producer playing Osheaga that you shouldn’t miss… … More

  • THINGS TO DO IN MONTREAL (JUNE 30-JULY 4)

    Posted by

The last weekend of the Montreal International Jazz Festival is upon us – and it’s a big one. Rain or shine (looks like shine), the fest starts off Canada Day weekend with jazz standards and not-so-standards and caps it off with our own version of 4th of July celebrations: a massive outdoor concert from the B-52s. All that jazz plus a visit from Will and Kate, a fest just for teenagers, and some truly beautiful, truly challenging art from American painter (and celeb in his own right) John Currin… … More

The Montréal Buzz posted a photo:	This is the view from our hotel room when my cousins and I spent the weekend in Montreal last July. The window looks directly up Avenue McGill College, to McGill campus and the mountain. I lived in Montreal during my time at the university, but this weekend was the first time my three cousins had been to the beautiful city. We spent the entire weekend walking up and down St. Denis, eating La Banquise's poutine in Parc La Fontaine, and napping in Parc Jeanne-Mance. But that first view of the city after our arrival at the hotel was definitely a moment that left my newbie cousins in awe of Montreal.
