  • A-TRAK DJS MONTREAL'S IGLOOFEST

    Posted by

A full day of snowfall did not deter thousands of Montrealers and tourists alike from showing up for the kickoff of Igloofest, which continues until January 28. People showed up in their best winter wear, explored the fest’s many fun and frosty features, and, of course, danced the night away to Montreal expat A-Trak. There’s plenty more to come, so make sure that this is the year you figure out what all the fuss is about.

  • SOLID COLD: IGLOOFEST SHAKES OFF WINTER

    Posted by

Sometimes I can’t believe that Montreal’s massive outdoor electronic music fest and dance party Igloofest took until 2007 to get off the frozen ground – I mean, it’s just so very Montreal. Since the dawn of time, Montrealers have always been good at finding ways to party, sanctioned or not, during the darkest and deepest of winters… … More

  • THINGS TO DO IN MONTREAL: JANUARY

    Posted by

Montreal has many secrets – rendez-vous locations, after-hours parties – but let me tell you a secret about winter in Montreal: it’s really not that bad. Oh, there was a time when winter in Montreal meant a certain amount of suffering, but these days, well, we have the technology to not only stay warm but to stay highly entertained. January alone features weekends of outdoor dance parties, the opening of an ice hotel (and bar), family fun in the snow, new contemporary art, wild theatre, dance and live music to warm the soul…

  • HALLOWEEN IN MONTREAL: FOR KIDS OF ALL AGES

    Posted by

Montreal residents generally don’t need an excuse to get out and enjoy their city. But if ever there was one, it’s Halloween, which very comfortably slips the city – and its seasonally-appropriate Old World sensibilities – into an otherworldly embrace each and every October 31, with a colourful array of activities and events, tricks and treats… … More

  • MONTREAL OYSTERFEST: SHUCKERS, CHEFS, BANDS AND WINE

    Posted by

Montreal’s not a place you’d associate with premium oysters and seriously good shuckers? Well, think again… and if you’re in town on Sunday, September 11, prepare to be pleasantly suprised at the third annual Montreal Oysterfest. The nearest sea may be hundreds of miles away but this is, after all, a food-crazed town where locals have a special weakness for all things served on crushed ice, from the insanely good snowcrab legs at Garde Manger to the exquisite urchins and mussels sourced locally and served at the Brasserie T! (when in season) – not to mention the top-notch oysters at Joe Beef and L’Orignal… … More

The Montréal Buzz posted a photo:	Closing party at Eglise St-Edouard: L-R: unknown, Thom Gillies (band Tops) and Adam Wilcox (musician) The Montréal Buzz posted a photo:	I took this photo approximately 45 minutes before our Toronto bound VIA train was to set to leave. That morning we packed our bags and sought out crepes for breakfast before heading to the station. I cried while packing because I didn't want to leave - the four days we had spent in the city had been perfect. We decided to take one last stroll while waiting for our train. We walked out to the street only to discover it was closed off for the Pride Parade! I took a few minutes to snap some shots of everyone waiting for the parade to begin.
