THINGS TO DO IN MONTREAL: DECEMBER 14-20

Montreal is truly nothing less than bright and colourful this week: outdoors with fireworks, street parties (and even street snowboarding!), interactive art and Christmas trees to decorate, and indoors with circuses, pro sports, craft fairs, theatre, Christmas concerts and rock shows.

WHAT TO DO IN MONTREAL FOR HALLOWEEN

Montreal is without doubt a 4G city – ghosts, ghouls goblins and gremlins – when it comes to its Halloween celebrations, and this year again provides no rest for the wicked with a wide-ranging array of activities and events catering to a broad spectrum of seasonal fun seekers. We’ll commence with the family-oriented fun times first…

THINGS TO DO IN MONTREAL: October 12-18

The city-wide high-energy party that is summer in Montreal is over, but autumn comes with its own entertainment, namely in arts and culture: this week see films from around the world, ballet with Japanese flair, theatre that’s both dark and light and art that illuminates – and as always, live music is everywhere, every day.

LGBT FALL EVENTS IN MONTREAL

It was a whirlwind summer in Montreal with festivals, food trucks and fun. We got to enjoy the new Clock Tower Beach, check out not one but two LGBT festivals (Divers/Cité and Fierte Montreal Pride) and enjoy the Boules Roses in the pedestrian haven of Aires Libres in the Gay Village. However the leaves are turning some Fifty Shades of Autumn, Pumpkin Spice is back at Starbucks and we can start rocking the sweaters and leather!

‘IT’S AN HONOR JUST TO BE NOMINATED!’ WHATEVER. WE WANT TO WIN THIS!

Each year our friends over at tripoutgaytravel.com hold a little awards contest that celebrates the best in the glamorous/scandalous world of gay travel. Montreal has been nominate for “Best Global Destination” – which makes sense for a variety of reasons: stellar gay village, delicious food, accessibility to Americans, cute accents and salacious nightlife. We’re kinda also awesome for hosting the world’s first international “Queer of the Year” contest. I thought I’d make a little video that highlights the ‘gayness’ of Montreal. We promise to keep on rockin’ it if you show us some voting love. You can vote with your Facebook or Twitter accounts, or you can keep it anonymous. But whatever you do, just get out there and vote now… for Montreal!

DRESS UP TIME IN TENNIS LAND

Well, there we were. Neatly lined up behind media stanchions. Tennis legend, the ever-elegant lady of the courts, Chris Evert, (fabulous in fuchsia) was guest of honour at the red carpet event hosted by Tennis Canada and the Rogers Cup presented by National Bank. Chris, a three-time champion of the Rogers Cup, was inducted into the Rogers Cup Hall of Fame on Monday August 16 during a centre court presentation at Uniprix Stadium.

MONTREAL’S ITALIAN WEEK

Montreal’s Italian Week takes place this week, until August 15th, which the more observant of you will notice is actually more than a week. But given the range of activities it boasts- art exhibits, food, music, cars, bocce tournaments and much more- it’s pretty evident that a week would not have been enough…
