(And for the record we resent you comparing our cuisine to the regurgitation of a monster.) “Poutine is a delicious mixture of fries, sauce and cheese. The classic Quebec poutine uses a very specific pepper sauce and fromage beaucronne (like a cheddar cheese curds).” And since your curiosity is now peeked, there are a couple of late-night options for you to sample poutine. An important part of any perfect weekend getaway is dining on great food in cozy bistros. And there is nothing quite divine as sharing the experience with your main squeeze. Whether a fresh new flame or a partner of 50 years, a romantic meal is a helpful pit stop in the ol’ relationship race. Okay, maybe not the best metaphor I’ve ever written. Our criteria for a winning romantic restaurant include a couple of variables: uniqueness, ambience and deliciousness. Toqué is arguably Montreal’s most revered restaurant. It is a white tablecloth institution that has long been known for its fabulous service, contemporary décor, and extraordinary tasting menus. I’ve celebrated some special occasions here, including a very romantic Valentine’s Day dinner. (Note to any gentlemen readers: My date got bonus points for having superb taste in venues.)
