A VERY SCARY LGBT HALLOWEEN

The most important thing to remember when planning your Halloween guise is to find the balance between Witty-clever and Accidentally-sexy. It seems for the gays it’s not what you put on, but what you take off that makes a solid Halloween costume. It’ll be well worth the effort, as there is plenty going on Saturday Oct 27th (the day Montreal clubs decided was Halloween) to show-off the amazing craftsmanship of your homemade (and very last minute) tiny underwear and a binder full of women combo. Here’s what’s happening for the very scary LGBT Halloween!

Summer in Montreal isn’t over until we say it’s over – so even though this is August’s last hurrah for 2012, the sun is still shining and the party is still going on. This week, the St-Laurent Street fair brings everybody out for shopping, music and mingling, as does the 18th-Century Market in the Old Port, albeit in a different way. There’s also plenty of great live music, film, theatre and dance across the city…

MONTREAL GAY PRIDE PARADE 2012

Montreal’s Gay Pride Parade took over downtown on Sunday, August 19in a burst of colour, music, dancing and spirit. Every Pride Parade I attend I make a point to really take it all in and recognize what’s really going on here. Standing on the corner of Guy and René-Levesque, watching the parade of rainbows and jubilation come to a halt for a moment of silence, I understand how fortunate we are in Montreal to have such an event. Where not only can everyone be themselves, they can be proud to show it. As the last of the floats, community organizations, and sponsors cross the finish line, I think, “Montreal, this is something to be seriously proud of.”
