  • PIKNIC ÉLECTRONIK :::: I CAN€T WAIT!

    Posted by

    One of my absolute favourite summer activities has to be soaking up electronic beats and rays of sunshine in Parc Jean-Drapeau. Every Sunday afternoon Montréalers shake their booties at an outdoor dance party. It is called Piknic Électronik.

    I wanted to give you a little taste of the excitement, so I made a little dance video – “I Can’t Wait!”

    Check it out… … More

  • IN THE STUDIO WITH PLANTS AND ANIMALS

    Posted by

    In many ways, Plants and Animals perfectly represent the diversity that makes Montreal’s music scene so magical. Made up of one Francophone and two Maritime-expats, this trio formed while taking classes together in Concordia University’s Music Department. Their 2008 full-length debut album, which was nominated for two Junos and the Polaris Music prize, was titled Parc Avenue – a nod to the lively and eclectic street on which most of the group lives.

    Recently, a photographer friend and I hung out in the studio as they worked on their new album… … More

  • SPACE FOR EVERYONE

    Posted by

    Montréal is home to a lot of homos. There is a large diversity of men out there. One might say that there are as many options as Ben & Jerry’s… or as we say in Montréal “Benoit et Gerald”.

    Check out my ode to diversity.

    Oh yeah, and you’ll never guess who I ask to marry me… … More

  • HIDDEN HOTSPOT #1: DRAWN & QUARTERLY

    Posted by

    About five years ago, I traded in my old Batman comic books for graphic novels. Maybe it’s just because as you get older, you feel something like Persepolis, by Marjane Satrapi, which tells the story of a young girl living in Tehran, might be a little closer to your everyday life than a man with a black leather costume whose job description includes saving the world and fighting evil people. … More

    The Gay Village is an obvious spot for all the homos, lezzies and queers to congregate. But “Gay Montréal” does not respect geographical borders. There are regular debaucherous parties that you need to know about!
