THE GOODS: ONE OF MONTREAL’S BEST PLACES TO DANCE

Posted on March 29th, 2011 by .

The Goods is a monthly dance party in Montreal. Hosted by DJs Scott C and Andy Williams at Sala Rossa, it’s one of the best nights in the city to go dancing to actually good music…

Scott C and Andy Williams started The Goods in 2002 with the simple mandate to present “great music, whether it’s known, forgotten, or yet to be discovered.” And that’s exactly what they’ve done, bringing in guests like Mr. Scruff, DJ Spinna, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Quantic, Christian Pronovost and many, many more. The musical spectrum that Andy and Scott cover themselves is huge: hip hop to jazz, funk to fusion, soul to dance, African to Brazilian beats. From dusty old 45s you’ve forgotten about to brand new tunes you didn’t even know existed, the one common denominator is that it is music that moves. To find out more about The Goods, make sure you check out their great weekly radio show, every Sunday afternoon from 1-4pm, on CKUT 90.3FM.

The guests this past month were the high-energy duo, The Makeover, who brought the house down. On April 30th, they’ll be joined by the ESL Crew and, on May 28, they’ve got Footprints from Toronto. But the thing is, with Scott and Andy behind the decks, it doesn’t matter who is visiting or what time before 3am you show up, you’re going to have a blast and your feet will thank you for it.
