[performance art] THE SILICONE DIARIES – What Amanda Lepore is to America, Nina Arsenault is to Canada… but perhaps a bit classier. But you’d expect nothing less from a Canadian, no? Anyway, from December 14 – 18, Miss Arsenault will be bring her one-woman show about her transition from male to female to full-fledged-living-work-of-art to Montreal. Tickets are selling fast. Don’t miss this one.
[cirque du soleil] QUIDAM – “A young girl’s world is shattered, and she finds herself in the universe of Quidam joined by mysterious characters, who will attempt to seduce her with the marvelous, the unsettling, and the terrifying.” For most of us, this is just an average evening at a gay nightclub. But if you need something other than a hot sweaty dance floor, Cirque du Soleil never disappoints. Starts December 18.
[fine art] OTTO DIX – Haunted by his horrific experience as a soldier during World War I, German artist Otto Dix was driven to portray life with brutal realism. A singularly disturbing and fascinating œuvre. This North American premiere runs at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts until January 2, 2011.
[eating out] ROMANTIC DINING – An important part of any perfect weekend getaway is dining on great food in cozy bistros. And there is nothing quite divine as sharing the experience with your main squeeze. Whether a fresh new flame or a partner of 50 years, a romantic dinner is a delicious prelude to an evening of attempted baby-makin’. So go forth… be romantic and procreate.
